Calculating Lysine & Threonine for Skin Collagen Production

Lysine makes up only 3-4% of the amino acids in collagen but it has an important function in the constitution of the cross-links between the molecules to built the fibrils.

Daily needs for Lysine: 12mg per Kg of body weight

Threonine is needed for synthesising the non-essential amino acids: Glycine and Serine (important collagen amino acids).

Daily needs for Threonine: 7mg per Kg of body weight

How to calculate it for your clients

LYSINE: (12mg per kilo of bodyweight)
Weigh yourself in kilograms (or in pounds then convert it)

Then multiply your weight in kilograms by 12

For example if you weigh 70 kilos: [70 x 12 = 840] you’ll need 840mg / 0.84g of Lysine daily.

THREONINE: (7mg per kilo of bodyweight)
Weigh yourself in kilograms (or in pounds then convert it)

Then multiply your weight in kilograms by 7

For example if you weigh 70 kilos: [70 x 7 = 490] you’ll need 490mg / 0.5g of Threonine daily.
