Anti-Ageing Chocolate Formulation

Learn to create skin-beautifying superfood chocolate and desserts using only clinical botanical nutrition healthy ingredients

Do your clients avoid chocolate? They don't need to. Real chocolate is skin-rejuvenating and UV-protective.

Commercial chocolate ( I won't name brands but you have seen them at the supermarket) which has barely any real cacao in it and is diluted with milk and refined sugar is NOT the skin-friendly option but unrefined and raw cacao is a powerful skin superfood.

🍫 Cacao versus Chocolate

Raw cacao powder is made by grinding the whole fermented (unroasted) cacao beans.Commercial cocoa powder however has gone though an alkalising process called ‘dutching’ which destroys some of the nutrients & antioxidants.

Cacao can be up to 10% its own weight in Flavonoids, including the flavanols: Catechin, Epicatechin, Luteolin and Proanthocyanins. These phytochemicals inhibit inflammation and oxidation
In vivo human skin studies have also shown the strong anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, photoprotective and chemopreventative effects of cocoa, after oral consumption

⚡ Functional beauty foods and skin superfoods are a HUGE area of growing science. And what better place to start than with chocolate

⚡ Many practitioners don't move with the times so you can stay ahead of your competition by implementing these new skin-health solutions in your clinic.

⚡ Your clients deserve (and will pay for) the best treatments and advice to help them get gorgeous, healthy, youthful skin and prevent sun-ageing. And who wouldn't keep coming back to the clinic that advises chocolate as skin-medicine? 🍫

By the end of this class your clients will be in love with you for 'prescribing' them delicious chocolate

Cacao polyphenols are strong antioxidants and have the potential to inhibit lipid peroxidation and can neutralise ROS (Reactive Oxygen Species)

Cocoa has great potential not only for the treatments of skin diseases, but also for their prevention.

Cacao procyanidins inhibit the expression of MMPs (Matrix Metalloproteases) which breakdown collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid

During my work as a skincare formulator I noticed that so many cosmetic ingredients were foods or food extracts, I realised that the power to beautify, treat and rejuvenate the skin was in diet, nutrition and food...not skincare products
